The Suburban can be configured in either a 1500 regular-duty model or a heavy-duty in the form of the 2500. Among the engines available is a 5.3-liter V-8 gas engine which improves your full-size SUV’s fuel economy by utilizing Active Fuel Management. The 2500 models can be equipped with a 6.0-liter V-8. The Suburban has a maximum towing capacity of 8,100 pounds (with the 1500) or 9,600 pounds (with the 2500), when they are properly equipped. The engines can be linked to a couple of different transmission options including a six-speed automatic. There is also a package offered for heavy-duty trailering, as well as an integrated brake controller which is linked to the electric trailer-brake systems.
